New Victoria 7 Add Ons Force A Sexy Look
You know, saving time and getting great Victoria 7 renders is something most DAZ Studio artists strive for. You probably already know the importance of great lighting and camera framing, since I pretty much talk about it all the time. But this time around, I’d like to focus on something else. Something you already do before you add lights and camera. Something that can be enhanced by a great deal starting now…
Yes, we’re talking about poses. But not just any V7 poses, we’re talking extremely female and natural looking poses. See, posing is an art-form on its own. 3D models lack gravity. Therefore it’s essential that you add it by pulling down heavy parts of the body and leave the light ones higher up. There’s a chain to be considered of course–since body parts are connected. Another important and often overlooked aspect of posing is deformation. When you sit down on a chair, your “lower parts” and deformed. Again, by gravity, but this time also because of interaction with other objects. A very cool way of quickly adding gravity, is to shift / move body parts “into” other props and objects. For instance, if someone is sitting on a bench, try not making them sit on top of it. Instead, pull them down an inch or two, to give illusion of gravity deforming (cropping) the body. Although simplistic, it turns out very good in most cases, espcially if you “hide” any errors with a good camera angle.

Then there’s subtle things like female grace. Bending hands and feet a little extra, to get that natural female touch of curves. In male renders you want to have straight lines, since that’s masculine. But when using Victoria 7, you want to play with curves, arches and everything non straight. It’s those little things that can turn a great render into a masterpiece.
In all this, what matters to most artists, is that their art still feel unique. That the pre-made assets don’t rob of your entire artistic mastery. I mean, we 3D artsists love to feel proud of our art, don’t we? So, in order to get your own personal touch on the pre made poses, what you can do is adjust them further to suit your needs and personal style.

You can choose a unique camera framing that shows off the pose from a different vantage point, so that it looks different then everybody elses. Or, you can also try putting your Victoria 7 in a special setting or set, which “forces” slight changes to the poses, so that they “belong” to the environment. Little things like arms poking through the walls or feet going theough the ground. So that you need to adjust them a little bit, thus making them look slightly different. Usually, a more confined space can contribute to more extreme alternations of the pre-made poses.

Finally, there’s a very neat trick you can use, that most artists seldom use. By simply changing the SHAPE of your Victoria 7, adding more weight, shorteining / extending body parts, you can change the appearance of your poses with a little bit of body part illusion. Now, if you’re like me, you want 90% of this automated / pre-made, and there’s not a single render that goes by without me relying on great artists that make this happen. And I highly recommend you do the same:
