Awesome future predicted!
Took a quick look around the Web to see what was going on, here are just a few notes and links of things we may need to be keeping track of.
Project Tango
Project Tango is from Google Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) division, which is developing a mobile device that senses space and movement in the same way as people. You can see the video here:
Sensors in a 5’’ Android phone take up to a quarter million 3D measurements each second, updating a 3D model of the space in front of you in real time.
Prototypes are already in the hands of developers to work out the kinks and bugs. It is also rumored that Google is working on a 3D imaging tablet. (Christian Science Monitor and BBC )
WOW! “3D animation market worth $40.78 billion by 2019”
The above quote is from PRWeb headline referring to the recently released report by MarketsandMarkets: “3D Animation Market by Hardware (Workstations, Video Card/GPU, Mocap system), (Packaged Software/Platform, SDK, Plug-in Software), Service (Consulting, Support & Maintenance, Development & Integration, Training & Certification) – Worldwide Forecasts & Analysis (2014-2019)”.
If you want to know more about the report go to the Geeks News Desk at geeks world.com
The report itself is in the definitely not free and possibly very expensive category, but I give you the link anyway: MarketsandMarkets: http://www.marketsandmarkets.com/Market-Reports/3d-animation-market-92736816.html.

The link takes you to a tiny bite from the video that was presented by The Color Project
The virtual experience involved “The multi-sensory immersive experience with ultra wide-screens, full surround sound and dazzling special effects flies you high above the countryside and through cities and gardens to discover the crucial role played by Britain’s butterflies as pollinators of plants and flowers”. The video was narrated by Clive Farrell, the world-famous British butterfly expert and enthusiast. I suspect we will be taking another look at the Color Project at a later date.
