DAZ Studio 4.6

The latest version of DAZ Studio has been released. The best news is that the Pro version is still totally free.

DAZ Studio is now even better than ever, because it’s faster, more stable than it was before and now has tons of shiny new features!

Here’s a list of all the NEW FEATURES

Some of the new stuff that really caught my eye are:

DAZ Studio New Render engine!

DAZ Studio 4.6 uses the most current 3Delight render engine which is much faster than the last one (particularly when you are doing fully raytraced renders). It is also optimised so that you can make the best use of your graphics cards capabilities. This is a cool feature 🙂

DAZ Studio Subsurface shading!

DAZ Studio has supported Subsurface Scattering for a long time now, but the most recent implementation enables full subsurface shading to be added to any of your existing surfaces. This is amazing for skin textures (which can be very tricky as we know). It gives all your existing characters and textures a life like appearance.

The DAZ Studio 64-bit version that works!

Although some complain that they have not had the greatest luck with the 64-bit version of DAZ Studio in the past, and go as far as to say that they prefer using the 32-bit release even on Windows 8 Pro 64. The previous 64-bit version has been glitch with some plugins and other issues. But, this time, DAZ Studio 64-bit is super fast and very stable. This I love!

Check out the full list of features as there is a ton of new stuff, including a full update to the Starter Essentials pack. This means that you get the latest release of Genesis as well as sets of hair and clothing to get you started. This is a fun release for sure!

Daz3D just keep coming up with better offerings all the time. I am using this latest version and am totally amazed at the rendering speed. For me it is the best DazStudio by far. As always there is so much to learn to get the most of it of course.

Great program, but the 64 bit version is still buggy leaving me to keep running the 32 but on my 64 bit .. It still crashes when ever render is clicked and never gets to start rendering.

It’s a great product, but yeah, even with a nice fast computer like mine, the 64-bit version of Daz 4.6 is very buggy and I just run the 32 bit instead as it is much smoother. It’s funny because ALL of my other software programs use far more memory than Daz and they all run in 64-bit. After reading the forums, it seems that there are still a high percentage of users who still revert back to the more stable 32-bit version. Either way, it’s evolving as one of the best 3D tools out there!
