Creating 3D from 2D
Here are a few software options, either existing or in the pipeline, for those wanting to create a 3D model from a photo that you can print out using a 3D printer and hold in your hands. Some options are set up so that you create your 3D model, which you then buy back from the company. In other cases you can print them out using a 3D printer.
3-Sweep
To begin, there is 3-Sweep, which is a program that creates a 3D-model from a 2D photo.

The software user defines the shape of the object with three selections. It can then be rotated in three dimensions, edited and moved into other photos.
This experimental software was developed by scientists from Tel-Aviv University in Israel and Tsinghua University in Beijing. The 3-Sweep technique is to be made available to the public, free or for sale.

3D MODEL TO PRINTER
For simple 3D model to printer aps, Google and Lego teamed up to make one that lets you create and print out models using lego ‘bricks’. Called Build with Chrome you can access the link here.
Then you can make 3D models using hand gestures using MakeVR. If you want to find out more go here.
There is a lot more software on offer, I have only listed a few, as written above some of the software out there is free, but you buy the model you create, and others cost a bundle, such as 3DF Zephry pro, which costs $2300! But if you want you can take a look here.
