Angry Birds’ Rival Mario Kart releases with $65 in-app purchases
Rovio Entertainment’s free-to-play game released December 11, 2013 across iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, and Blackberry 10 devices.
Angry Birds Go!, the free-to-play kart racer spin off of the popular paid version of the downloadable strategy series launched on December 11, 2013. The game is now available for iOS, Windows Phone 8, and Blackberry 10 devices. The Android version is also now available at the Google Playstore.
Similar to other free-to-play games, Angry Birds Go! supports several micro-transactions within the game. In fact the iTunes product page, shows that users can spend between $2.60-$65 to buy additional items.
The game was “built from the ground up” as a free-to-play and it offers upgradable karts, characters, and special powers in its “fully rendered” 3D world. Gamers can play as the birds and/or the pigs in the various game modes such as Time Boom and Fruit Splat.
Angry Birds Go! also allows for connectivity with Hasbro’s Telepods, a line of physical toys that can also be “teleported” into the game.
The above 2 min video is the special launch trailer for the game.
