3D Doodler 3D Printing Pen
The 3D Doodler was made available as a testing of the market earlier this year and now the device is ready to be packaged and shipped out to consumers in early 2014.
The 3d Doodler is a 3D printing pen. It’s kinda like a hot glue gun used for plastic. This simple yet innovative “toy”melts a single strand of ABS or PLA, which allows you to draw objects in the air, that solidify as you draw up your hand.
The news of the Kickstarter funded novelty first broke HERE when it was announced that the 3D Doodler pen would be sold for $75. However, now as it draws close to market release the price is looking closer to $99.
This gadget is a ton of fun and once someone becomes good at using it the possibilities are amazing (see the image of the Eiffel Tower below as an example:

The new and soon to be released 3Doodler is somewhat similar to the early unit. All the same elements are there: a slot in the rear that feeds in the plastic, the heated tip where the heated plastic comes out in semi-liquid form, an exhaust fan (at the time of writing, this fan is pretty loud, but should be toned down before it hits the marketplace) and two buttons for fast or slow extrusion.
Here is a short video so you can see for yourself the fun that is in store here 🙂
Have fun with 3D 🙂
